Ads, explainers, e-learning and corporate films fail when VO lands half a second late or when every take sounds like a different mic. Resourceworks pairs vocal recording in isolation with a control room that follows video and delivers to your edit pipeline.

Book Voice-over and audiovisual with a locked cut or a working version with timecode. We work from cue sheets, take logs and can record multiple languages same day. Script and picture rights stay with your client — technical delivery is separate from usage licences.

Process

  1. Brief

    Send video (or link), script with timecode and naming via contact. Confirmation within 2 business days.

  2. Sync

    Picture in the booth, headphone mix, prompter or tablet. Test loop for pace and breath before paid takes.

  3. Record

    Sections per cue, alts on hard lines, consistent mic position across takes.

  4. Export

    WAV per take or cue, text cue sheet, sync reference if agreed. Archive 24 months under terms.

Clients and typical jobs

Production companies needing Dutch or English VO, agencies on short spots, schools with modules, and creators who want voice in the booth for consistency while picture is elsewhere. Re-voicing existing picture without new camera work is possible when you supply a reference cut.

We are not a casting agency — you supply talent; we supply tech and session direction. Audio-only VO without picture may fit vocal recording at a lower rate — we will point you to the right service.

Picture, timecode and prompter

You watch a screen in the booth while the engineer sees the same timeline. Locked picture works best; on changing edits, label version and timecode clearly. Prompter or large-type tablet cuts errors on long corporate reads.

Frame rate and pull-up/down matter on mixed projects — flag them early. Send reference MP4 or ProRes proxy; heavy raw via cloud with a tested download.

Cue sheets and takes

Each cue gets a sensible name (scene, take, alt). The engineer logs good takes and timestamps so your editor is not scrubbing hours of material. Multiple languages keep the same cue map for parallel edits.

Plosives and level are handled with distance and light in-session touch-up — not heavy «radio» processing unless you ask. prepare vocal session covers warm-up and diction for long scripts too.

Deliverables for edit

Default 24-bit WAV, 48 kHz, filenames to your spec. On request: mono/stereo, timecode reference, or AAF/OMF when agreed upfront (may add time). No mp3-only handoff for broadcast without an explicit exception.

Music and design under VO are not standard; mixing can deliver a stereo web mix. Mastering is rare for speech-only, more common when music in the spot must be release-ready.

Project fee vs hourly

Short corporates up to thirty minutes finished picture often fit the project rate €450 — prepared sync and reasonable alt takes included. Long e-learning or spots with many on-the-fly changes suit €110 per studio hour.

All prices include 21% VAT. B2B invoices 14-day terms after approval. Extra languages, weekend slots or rush are line items on the quote.

Revisions and picture changes

2 rounds of focused feedback on delivered takes (delivery, pace) fit many project quotes when picture does not move. A new client edit usually means a new sync session — not a «free revision».

Script changes after the day: new lines at hourly rate or agreed pick-up fee. Put changes in writing so versions stay traceable.

Not included

Translation, legal script approval, stock music, colour grading, on-location filming and travel outside Columbusplein 26. Usage rights sit between you and talent or agency — we record, we do not clear rights.

Unlimited pick-ups months later, fixing bad location audio and lip-sync without new takes are outside standard. Privacy in corporate video: privacy policy and optional data processing agreement.

Practical details in Amsterdam-West

The studio address is on Columbusplein in Amsterdam-West. Trams 13 and 14 stop at Columbusplein; from there it is about a three-minute walk. By bike you can use the racks along the square in front of the entrance. Open Monday to Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 10:00–18:00. Closed on Sunday.. Book contact, 020 - 707 4829 or [email protected]. Studio since 2019, 2 booths; audiovisual usually uses the booth with control-room sight lines. FAQ on files and visits. Terms and 40% deposit on longer jobs; cancel up to 7 days per policy.

FAQ

Does picture need to be final?

Locked cut avoids retakes from timing changes. Work prints are fine if you version them clearly and accept that later edits may need new sessions.

Several languages in one day?

Yes, with the same cue map and enough booked time. Project pricing is per language bundle — clarify on the quote.

How is this different from vocal recording?
Vocal recording is for audio-only. Voice-over and audiovisual adds picture sync, cue logging and edit-oriented export — hence the higher hourly rate.
Broadcast loudness (EBU R128)?
