Vocal and speech recording
In two treated vocal booths at Columbusplein you capture leads, doubles and spoken word with an engineer who watches timing, diction and headphone balance — without rushing you through takes.

Listeners forgive almost nothing on the lead vocal. At Resourceworks we start by listening: genre, dynamics, references — then we place microphone, pop filter and monitoring in an isolated booth before the first red light.
Book Vocal and speech recording for singing, rap, spoken word, narration or voice-over. Bring a finished instrumental, a project from your home setup or only lyrics and melody; we scale the session to your starting point. Minimum age in the studio is 16; under-eighteens should bring an adult.
Process
Intake
Send instrumental, lyrics and tempo via contact. We confirm within 2 business days and hold booth time within Mon–Fri 10–22, Sat 10–18.
Setup
Quick mic comparison, pop-filter distance, headphone mix and gain. Allow ten to twenty minutes before take one counts.
Tracking
Full passes, then targeted punch-ins. We flag strong takes as we go so comping is not a marathon at the end.
Handoff
Comp of chosen takes, WAV stem export same day or via download. Session archive kept 24 months per terms and conditions.
Who this is for
Solo artists finishing a single, rappers planning a mixtape, bands adding vocals after band recording, songwriters pitching a demo, or voice-over for ads and corporates — the booth is built for focused takes, not a casual social clip.
Dutch and English are common; other languages need a quick heads-up when booking. Featuring a guest vocalist? Say so early — extra voices may need a longer block or a second booth. Preparation tips live in our vocal prep guide.
Booth, acoustics and monitoring
The facility has 3 rooms; vocal booths are dry enough for tight rap and soft enough for ballads. You see the engineer through glass in the control room with 4 monitor pairs for reference.
You get a personal headphone mix you can tweak anytime: more beat, less reverb, a touch more of your own voice. Water and a music stand are standard. Standing, seated or handheld mic for certain rap parts — we adapt.
Microphone choice and placement
There is no single «perfect» mic, only a match for your voice on this song. We often compare two models on the same verse: large-diaphragm condenser for air, dynamic for power or dense mixes.
Distance to the capsule, height and pop-filter angle shape low end, sibilance and brightness. We tune so later fixes stay minimal. Hard consonants in rap sometimes need more space; soft phrases can sit closer.
Takes, coaching and comping
The engineer does more than hit record. Want feedback on pitch, timing or articulation — ask for it. Others arrive with a fixed vision and prefer space; we follow your lead.
Doubles and ad-libs go on separate, clearly named tracks. Comping can happen in the room or right after, depending on booked time. Pitch correction only on request and kept subtle unless you want an obvious effect.
What to bring and prepare
At least two business days ahead, send instrumental as WAV or AIFF at your project sample rate, ideally without a smashed limiter on the beat. Add BPM, key and structure in your email or a text file.
Print lyrics or enlarge them on a tablet; mark breaths. Reference tracks (for tone and space, not cloning) help the engineer. Skip ice-cold drinks and heavy meals right before takes — the prep guide covers rest and warm-up in more detail.
Delivery, formats and turnaround
We default to 24-bit, 48 kHz, or your project rate if you specify. You receive vocal stems as WAV, aligned from song start, ready for your DAW. On request we also deliver the full session or a quick rough mix for home listening.
Files go via secure download or to your drive. Raw sessions stay 24 months, then are deleted per our archive policy in the privacy policy. Always keep your own backup.

FAQ
How long for one song?
For a three- to four-minute track with verses, chorus and a few doubles, plan two to four hours. The half day at €320 suits many singles.
Can someone sit in the control room?
One or two guests are fine. Larger groups often distract; mention it when booking if you expect a crowd.
Do you mix the vocals too?
What if I am ill on the day?
Tell us as early as possible. More than 7 days out we reschedule free; shorter windows follow cancellation clauses. With voice trouble, postponing beats forcing weak takes.
How many revisions after the session?
Comping and small edits within booked time are included. Extra editing or new recording days are quoted separately; mix revisions fall under mixing with up to 2 rounds there.
