Podcast recording

Around a table with broadcast mics you capture conversations that sound like a real show — room for two to four hosts, an in-person guest and a remote participant on a stable feed.

Two podcasters at a table with microphones and headphones.

Listeners spot instantly when a show was recorded in a reflective room or when one voice is crisp and another is on a laptop mic. At Resourceworks we set a table layout where every speaker gets a channel, so you can fix levels, noise and overlap in post without re-recording the whole chat.

Book Podcast recording for interview series, news-style shows, internal comms or a pilot that must sound credible before you pick a platform. Remote guests join the way you describe at booking; we limit live audience in the room to keep focus. Minimum age 16; see FAQ for visitor rules.

Process

  1. Format

Tell us voice count, episode length and whether you capture video. We confirm via contact within 2 business days and offer slots within Mon–Fri 10–22, Sat 10–18.

  2. Setup

Mics, headphones, levels and seating. Remote test when needed. Allow twenty to thirty minutes before billable recording.

  3. Record

Multiple takes or one long session. Engineer watches overlap, plosives and the remote guest feed.

  4. Handoff

Multitrack per voice plus a stereo mix for quick review. Archive 24 months; see privacy policy.

Shows that fit this room

Talk formats with two hosts and rotating guests: culture, tech, founders, community stories. Company podcasts that should not sound like a Teams call. Solo host plus remote guest works, but the table shines with at least two people in the room.

Full post (music edits, hour-long assembly) is not part of the recording block — we deliver clean materials for your editor or can point to mixing for heavier sound work.

Table, mics and acoustics

Dynamic or broadcast mics with pop protection per seat, headphone mixes so everyone hears themselves and the room. Treated speech acoustics — no hollow room tone to fix later. We comfortably seat four mics; more voices need a custom plan.

3 rooms on site; podcast usually uses the conversation area by the control room with engineer in sight. Vocal recording in the booth works for VO intros alongside table talk.

Remote and hybrid guests

We route remote guests through a setup tested before the session — stable internet on both ends is yours, we handle recording on a dedicated track. Budget time for a soundcheck in your booked block.

Video alongside audio is possible by arrangement; we are not a video studio, but a camera position and clap sync can work if your crew handles picture. Share resolution and frame rate before the day.

Prep for hosts and guests

Send outline or question list at least two business days ahead. Guests get practical info: The studio address is on Columbusplein in Amsterdam-West. Trams 13 and 14 stop at Columbusplein; from there it is about a three-minute walk. By bike you can use the racks along the square in front of the entrance., bike parking at the square, water on site. Avoid rustling clothes and jewelry that hits the mic.

Dutch and English shows are common; mixing languages in one episode is fine if you plan it for listeners. Internal shows with personal data: consider a data processing agreement when recording staff.

Files and formats

Default: 24-bit WAV, 48 kHz per voice, plus a stereo mixdown for approval. Filenames include episode and role (host 1, guest, remote). Secure download; bring your own drive if you prefer.

Raw sessions stay 24 months. Back up immediately. Exporting to an outside mixer? mix file formats helps.

Timing and session length

A thirty- to sixty-minute conversation often needs two to three studio hours including setup and breaks — not a full hour of talk per booked hour. Half day (four hours) at €260 suits several short episodes or one deep interview with retakes.

Same-day file delivery is normal; heavy editing afterward is extra. Mastering is rarely needed for speech unless music intros must be release-ready.

FAQ

How many people at the table?

Comfortably two to four in the room. A fifth person or audience needs prior contact — focus and acoustics suffer quickly.

Do you shoot video?

We focus on sound; simple sync video is possible by arrangement. Broadcast picture needs a video team or dedicated studio.

Multiple episodes in one day?

A half day at €260 can cover two or three short chats if scripts are ready and guests arrive on time.

Do you edit the podcast?

The session yields raw to lightly organized stems. Long edits are extra; ask for a quote if you want mixing-level work.

Cancellation or illness?

More than 7 days out we move free. Shorter windows follow cancellation articles. Cold symptoms? Postpone rather than record an hour of sneezing.
